Military Appreciation Night With The Kane County Cougars

Thursday, July 2, 2015 is Military Appreciation Night with the Kane County Cougars, 6:30pm game time.

All active duty and retired military personnel receive complimentary tickets for themselves as well as immediate family members. The first 1,500 fans receive a camo cap, courtesy of Miller Lite! It’s also Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark, where select beers and sodas are only $1.

The Cougars will finish the evening with a patriotic-themed fireworks show. 

National Doughnut Day – A Thank You To The Salvation Army

National Doughnut Day created by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the men and women who served the donuts to the soldiers of World War I. The day was started by the Chicago Salvation Army as a fundraiser to help the needy during the Great Depression.

A couple of other notable history items for June 5th.

    • 2004 Ronald Reagan (b. 1911) dies after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s
  • Thank you Giving Dupage Human Race Supporters

    Yesterday we had the privilege of attending the Giving Dupage Human Race Check Presentation Breakfast at Cantigny. The Dupage Veterans Foundation was one of 67 non-profit organizations to receive a check from donations received by Giving Dupage.

    We would like to thank all of our supporters for your support and participation in the 2015 Dupage Human Race. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Dupage Human Race event.

    Honor Flight Chicago will send Honor Flight #63 to Washington DC on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. An early morning departure from Midway Airport begins a day of remembrance and reminiscing for these veterans who have waited over sixty years to see their World War II Memorial. In addition to seeing the long awaited World War II Memorial, we plan to show these deserving veterans the Lincoln, Korean, and Vietnam Memorial and, as time permits, the Air & Space Museum.
